Ever since I can remember I’ve been drawn to all things visual. As a child it was coloring, drawing, and admiring the everyday things around me. In my early teens I found that photography became more of an interest. By my late teens I was watching movies not only for their entertainment value, but for their visual appeal. Later, I began to notice product ads beyond the consumer eye. All of this eventually led me to what I do today: Web and Graphic Design.
Even though I had always been interested in Visual Communications, it was something I never knew to be called “Visual Communications” and I certainly did not know that I could make a career out of it. I went to a community college for two years and took general courses while I researched different career options. It was there that I decided to take an Intro to Graphic Design course. It was in that class that everything came together for me.

I went on to earn an AA from there and later attended AIU and earned a BFA in Graphic Design. While taking classes in pursuit of my Graphic Design degree, I found that I was making use all those things I enjoyed doing while growing up. “Coloring” became linked to Color Theory, “admiring the everyday things around me” became Composition, and photography became a medium. My interest in product ads was where I was going to put my Graphic Design to professional use. However, with all the advances of the Internet and technology, multi-media and web design became more intertwined with Graphic Design. Not only was there a demand for multi-media designers, but in the personal aspect of it all, it was another means of putting my graphic design knowledge to use. It was only logical that I take the next step and go back to school for Web Design.
After graduating with an AS in Interactive Media Design (Web Design), I landed a job with Beasley Broadcast Group. At first I was a part timer aiding in content management and creating web graphics for WPOW, WKIS, and WQAM. A few months later I became the full time Webmaster for WKIS and continued helping WPOW with web graphics. I was with the company for about 16 months. In addition to my full time job, I worked and continue to work on a freelance basis creating print pieces and websites.
